Class Warfare.. Divide and Conquer
Listen to the message coming out of Washington and you’ll start to believe that you’re surrounded by people out to destroy you and your country. Pundits, politicians and those in the media have got to be enjoying this whole class warfare thing that they’re instigating.
All of your economic problems are caused by either the greedy, evil rich or the lazy, “gimmie-something-for-nothing” poor. No matter what your “social standing”, you are a victim. This distraction gives the real enemies of freedom the chance to do about anything they wish.
Who’s Side Are You On?
Well, let’s assume you’re not a member of that evil and greedy group of people sitting on more money than you know what to do with. Does that mean you’re a poor member of the opposite side? Probably not.
More likely, you’re somewhere in the middle. You are right in the cross-hairs of the propaganda being dished out by Washington. You are a casualty of the war between the classes.
Notice how the terms rich and poor get tossed about by these guys? What defines rich? What defines poor? They never provided meaningful numbers. That’s because it’s all relative.
People making more than me are well off. Folks making less than me are poor.
It’s that simple.
So if I accept the words coming out of Washington as fact, there’s a whole lot of people for me to be mad at. I’m a victim of everyone elses financial situation.. The government has no choice but to take my money and give it to you poor folks. And if you rich folks would stop making so much money and finding loopholes to avoid paying a bigger fair share of taxes.. I could keep more of my money.
Americans are just folks trying to live their own lives. Very few of us stay satisfied very long with how much we earn. That’s a good thing. It keeps us motivated to always go a little farther and work a little harder. It’s not greed, it’s the result of living in a free society and it’s why our country is “The Land of Opportunity”.
It’s just so much easier to be a victim. It’s nice to have somebody else to blame when things don’t work out. Politicians are fully aware of that. That’s why they’re so happy to play the class warfare game.
This convenient set-up makes it possible for a politician’s words to sound compelling to a very huge audience. Painting with the broad stroke of generalization, they’re able to portray themselves as heroes riding in to save the day… your day. Never mind the fact that their meddling always causes more problems.
You’re Right Where They Want You To Be.
Emotional people are easy to control. They want you to be mad and they want you to feel sorry for yourself. To pity those less fortunate than you and to despise people who have achieved success. They also expect you to stand in awe and admiration at their wisdom and greatness.
While you’re kept busy with all those emotions, their agenda(s) get pushed through and shoved down your throat. Government grows, its costs go up and a little more freedom gets taken away from somebody. Not much else changes. You’re still better off than some.. worse off than others.
