Pence Introduces Iran Resolution Supporting Dissidents

Posted by: Larry

While leaders around the world are sending a strong message to Iran’s leadership, our President states that he’s  “troubled by the violence”. He must find it hard to believe that people don’t like to be ruled by a deceptive government.

From his statement on the issue, I can’t figure out if Obama is upset with the Iranian government’s violence… or the audacity of mere citizens standing up to be heard.

Thank God, for people like Indiana Representative Mike Pence.  He has introduced House Resolution 549 that extends words of support from America’s to and for the Iranian dissidents.

“We are witnessing a Tiananmen in Tehran and the United States must stand in the gap. While the President may be ‘troubled by the violence,’ he has yet to express the unqualified support of the American people for those who are courageously risking their lives for free elections and democracy in Iran. If the President of the United States will not express our nation’s solidarity with the dissidents in the streets of Tehran, then Congress must.
Read all of Rep. Pence’s statement at  PENCE INTRODUCES IRAN RESOLUTION SUPPORTING DISSIDENTS.

The “election” in Iran was a complete sham.  Today, Iranian dissidents are in the streets of Tehran and other major cities while riot police, the Revolutionary Guard Corps, militias and mercenaries  are cracking down hard on them.

The Iranian government has cut off all communication channels and foreign journalist are being silenced, expelled or arrested.  This from a country whose human rights record continues to go from bad to worse.  This from a country our President thinks we should get to know better, understand and have a relationship with.

Strong support from our nation and other world leaders could bring about real hope and change for Iranian seeking freedom. The citizens are yearning to be released from tyranny. They are standing up for what they believe in against terrible odds. Perhaps they’ve been inspired by what’s happening in Iraq.

But, the President doesn’t want to spoil all that feel good nonsense he spews forth to the Iranian leadership. Get your representative to support the Iran Resolution Supporting Dissidents

Iranian dissedents should know that even if the President will not, the American People will and are standing with them.

Supreme Court lifts stay on Fiat-Chrysler deal

Posted by: Larry

Good Lord.

The Supreme Court denied Indiana pensioners’ bid to block the government-backed sale of Chrysler to Italian automaker Fiat Tuesday evening.

via The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room » Supreme Court lifts stay on Fiat-Chrysler deal.

They couldn’t even put their names to it. A per curiam decision. Anonymously.

Well America.. get ready. The door is wide open and nobody can stop the madman obama.

Today is the day that American Capitalism died.

Supreme Court Puts Chrysler Sale On Hold!

Posted by: Larry

Another victory for Indiana Treasurer Richard Mourdock and America.

The Supreme Court on Monday granted an emergency appeal asking it to halt the impending government-backed sale of Chrysler to Italian automaker Fiat.

The order stops for now Chrysler’s sale, which the company claims could scuttle the deal.

Obama’s attempt to ignore the law hits another bump. This temporary stay offers a ray of hope. It’s anyone’s guess right now what happens next. Hopefully, the Supreme Court will agree to take up the case and put a stop to this administration’s complete disregard for contract law.

Specifically, the case deals with two issues. First, is the unprecedented manner in which unsecured interests (the UAW) are given preferential treatment. Secondly is the legality of how TARP funds are being used in the deal.

Standing Up For What’s Right

Posted by: Larry

Like Horatio at the Bridge,  Richard Mourdock continues to fight for what’s right.

Indiana’s State Treasurer has at least temporarily blocked the sale of most of Chrysler Corporation’s assets to Fiat.

A late decision allows for a court challenge to see if two Hoosier pension funds and a construction fund are getting a raw deal in the automaker’s bankruptcy.

State Treasurer Richard Mourdock says he doesn’t like holding up the sale of Chrysler to Fiat, but he insists he won’t back down, and now he’ll get a hearing before a federal appeals court. via Indiana Treasurer Wins Right to Appeal Chrysler Bankruptcy Terms | Indiana’s NewsCenter: Fort Wayne WPTA-TV, WISE-TV, CW, and My Network | Local & Regional.
